Hey guys~I stumbled upon a V-16 in the EE here a few years back, a 4-16x42 with a target dot reticle. Having read favorable things about the V-16s on a big US rimfire forum, I snapped it up. Until recently, it didn't have a rifle to sit on but now that it does, I'm quite smitten with the thing. Now that I'm toying with the idea of a .17cal varmint rifle (for the first time) I've been thinking about trying to find another V-16 to throw on it. I'm impressed with the glass quality for the price, the finish is nice, etc. My .223 Varmint rig wears a Sightron SIII and while I feel that's a superior piece of optical equipment, I won't/don't have the desire to put that kind of $ into a scope for this .17 experiment.

Does anyone know of a dealer/source for new Weaver scopes here in Canada? Even a source for a used V-16?

I think a phone call to Phil at Trace Scope Repair might be worthy.
I know he buys used busted scopes and repairs them for resale.
Not sure if they would be a bargain, but heck, them old Weavers are worthy of some $$.
Even the new Classics are a best kept sea-kritt.

^I'll try that. Phil repaired 1 old scope for me, can't say I've ever had better service anywhere. Top-notch, professional guy.
