Oddly-phrased question. That scope looks like a Weaver V-16 (I have one) and my copy is the only one I've ever owned/held/looked-through. Mine has a target-dot reticle, SUPER fine..probably only visible in good light. (=not a hunting scope) Adjustments are pretty good, glass is decent, very fairly-priced scope for what it is. I don't mind AO either, but I used mine on a rimfire. Finish is a very nice, matte black.

I had one of these 4-14 (I think) on a Savage FVSR 22lr and on a Marlin X7 in 223.

I found it to be an excellent scope for the money, glass was very clear/bright and the adjustments were nice.

Which one is best for your Ruger American in .223Remington depends on what you what want to shoot with that rifle. The Classic K and Classic V models are good value.

I have a fixed 12X Weaver with adjustable objective on my Ruger #1B in .22 Hornet for the last 20 years or so. It's got decent glass, fine cross hairs that don't obscure minimal targets. I've killed many groundhogs with this combo.
There are more expensive scopes and I own some of those but this works well for my application.
A high fixed power is unlikely to work well for moving predator shooting though. It can be done but a variable is handier .
Not sure what your application is.
