I have had see-thru rings on a few guns. My BLR came with them along with a Simmons scope. That set up shot at least a dozen moose and a few dozen deer. Closest shot was 25 yards and longest was 450. As someone said above, its not a bench rest gun so they are not that hard to get use to. The funny thing is, I never ever used the iron sights to shoot any of those critters. I kept the gun set at 2 power and if it was a long shot I turned it up to 7. Even the 25 yard shot was made with the scope, cross hairs went right between the bull mooses peepers. The one time I went to use them the fog was so thick even the iron sights didn't give me a clear shot, so I didn't shoot.
My see thrus were made for the blr and screwed right to the receiver. I would get these kind if you decide to go with them, they should be sturdier than the ones you have pictured in the OP
