I have an old Ruger Mark I that i want to put a red dor scope on, this gun does not have the factory pre-drilled holes for the scope base, i have looked around and have seen some of the clamp on bases, my question is; has anyone tried any of these, or have any suggestions (keeping in mind that i don't want to drill the receiver). also the base must be a weaver style. any help would be appreciated, and also where could i find one of these ?

Tried the clamp on version on a Mk II. Works fine, looks crappy. There used to be a company that sold a LH grip panel/scope mount that worked pretty well too, and looked a damn sight better. - dan
