Weaver Tipoff Moints

Does anyone know if weaver made 30mm rings before they quit making the tipoffs ?

Only ever used one set of tipoffs: then crushed them in my bench vise and threw them out.

Are you determined to use tipoffs? There are so many better options out there. Just my $0.02....

Agreed. Never understood the "lets mount our scope on a hinge" theory. Mount a good scope as low and sturdy as possible and forget about the iron sights. Similar to the old see through mounts. The sight picture is much less desirable than the one through a good scope.

Just FYI, Weaver calls their regular rings Tip Off . They call the hinged version Pivot Mounts.

I have never had a problem with either tip offs or pivot mounts.

I've used tip-off or pivot mounts I guess there really called and never had any probs. I know some don't like them but I've got them an most of my win 88 or 100s and have shot deer and moose out past 200 yrds no probs
