Weaver vs picatinny fitment????

For the love of god...

There is so much conflicting info regarding the fitment of Weaver rings fitting Picatinny bases and vice/versa.

My understanding at this point is that Weaver rings will mount properly on a Pic rail but pic rings won't mount properly to a Weaver rail?

Will Weaver rings be sloppy on a pic rail?

My rifle came with a EGW picatinny rail. I am looking to use either Weaver tactical or Burris XTR rings??

picatinny rail has a standard
grooves are 0,206" wide and 0,394" intervals

weaver bases, dont have standard distance between grooves and grooves ere slimmer

so tacticals rings dont fit on a weaver base because crossbolt is to wide but weaver
rings fit on the picatinny but the cross bolt will be loose

just try picatinny on google and you will find all kind of details

As I understand it the grooves are the only thing that are different. The way things clamp from the outsides is the same, it is the grooves in the bases that locate things front/back that are different.

I just ordered some Burris Sig Zee rings to go on an EGW base I'll know for sure when they get here
