web missing, is it safe to use

Hi fokes

Im new to reloading, and i was decapping some 30-06 sprg and i found one case with out a web in the bottom,

just want to know if it is safe to use, my spidersence is tell me to scarp it, but it never hurts to ask a question

I wonder if it wasn't drilled out to use as abore sighting aid. I'd be inclined to mark it and keep it for that purpose.

Looks like some bozo tried to convert a berdan primed case to boxer. The primer will go right into the case. Pitch it and check the rest of your cases.

NO! If you shot a full power load out of that, an excessive amount of pressure would blow the primer out and you'd get a face full of hot burning gas at very high velocity.

I have seen that on 44 Rem. Mag cases, in the past on once fired Speer brass, I believe the brass was brittle and the area where the flash hole is situated was broken when the primer was inserted and ended up in the casing. Yes I would say, either save for reference or like someone suggested use it for a cleaning rod guide or discard it. This not a common occurence I have only seen it once in 40 yrs.
