I recently purchased a near-mint Webley and Scott 12 gauge boxlock ejector (either a model 700 or a 701) at the Kamloops Gun Show in April, and I was hoping someone on this site could help me determine the approx. date of manufacture, based on the serial #. The proof marks are listed as 2 3/4" chamber, 3 1/4 ton. So, it was made sometime between 1954 and the 1970's (when Webley folded). The serial number is 12988*.
