Hey guys i recently got into collecting antique firearms and need some help and advice. Im looking to purchase a couple very nice pieces from the states. A webley british bulldog .380cf and .42 cal around year 1880. First question is what kind of paperwork do i need to complete for this to be sent, if any? The seller told me he sold once to canada and the buyer needed some kind of customs paperwork to fax him, is this true? Another question; is the .380 cf caliber still considered an antique here? Thanks

Contact the RCMP CFO with the serial number and some pictures of it first, they will tell you if it meets their antique status requirements first.

The .380 revolver round is okay but the Webley revolver may not be depending on it's serial number meeting the RCMP's cutoff number, as they made them (Webley Bulldogs in .380) into the early 1900's, about up to about 1924.

Are you sure it is a British Webley made one and not a US or Belgian made copy/clone?

Same deal with the .42 one.

It has Edinburgh marking on it.

Thats what the description says, also the serial number is listed and says appox date. 1880.

If in fact it is pre 1898, is there anything else i need done, i found a website borderview.com that you pay for them to ship antiques, is that even necessary?
