Webley-Fosbery self cocking pistol

I'm reading the history of the Webley pistols and came across this gun. I had never heard of it before. Here is a Wiki article about it:

Looks like the idea died when this gun ceased production. Interested in others nutz knowledge of this gun. Funny the idea has never been tried again, to my knowledge.

Yes very neat. Marstars had one listed last year for 10k.

Apparently a Pakistani company was going to remake them (in 455 and 357), but I have not heard of any developments over the last couple years.

A more modern equivalent is the Mateba auto revolver.
