Tried this on the general forum, thought I might have better luck here. I have a 1915 Webley Mark V in .455, and its barrel latch spring's busted. I wonder if anyone knows where I might find one. I can't seem to be able to find this particular part anywhere online, as this part differs from the latch springs on other, more common models.

I have a pic showing the barrel latch springs for the Mark IV, VI and V (left to right). I placed the Mark IV spring upward to show how the springs peg is offset like the Mark Vs'. However, you'll note the peg on the Mark Vs' spring is much larger, and the spring itself is unique in a few different ways.

If nobody knows where I could source an existing spring, maybe one of you knows someone who can fabricate this kind of part? Thanks for taking the time to look over my post.

Have you tried Numrich? They do advertise parts for the Mk. II, III, IV, and VI - not sure if those would be of any use though.

You could always email them as well, and see if they have anything that could work - they do seem to carry some reproduction parts as well.

Unfortunately, they have everything but the spring I need. I emailed them and they said they couldn't help me.

I just looked at my Webleys and they _all_ have a spring that looks exactly like your broken one - thick, cylindrical shape of the retaining peg. (mk1, mk1**, mk1**, mk2 and a mk6). With Webleys I found that there is a lot of variation between parts even within the same model. e.g. hammers - they are all over the place.

I can't help you with a spare, but I would suggest you look at springs for all models. Just ask for a picture before buying. Ellwood Epps had some Webley parts at one point in time, just be careful to make sure they are sending you what you think they are sending you - they can be... not very diligent about things...

I've actually just been in touch with the smith at Ellwood Epps, he said they may be able to find or make one for me. I'm going to mail them my broken spring and it'll go from there. Thanks for your help.
