Webley MK VI value?

what's this worth please?: I have a Webley MK VI without a shaved cylinder. The serial number is n-35** however there is a longer (6) digit number on the cylinder that has a line through it. Also where the trigger guard mounts there is another 6 digit (different than the other) number. Barrel is clean and rifling is vg. No cracks on the pistol grips and lanyard ring is there. Blueing is all there. I can take more photos.
Also there are 2 boxes of a total of 100 rounds of hand loaded (by gunsmith) ammo = 455 Webley MK II, new Hornady brass, 200gr SWC - 4.3 gr Unique. Also about 40 once fired brass.

Webley owners are your main market. As such, in my humble opinion, the whole kit and caboodle is worth C$350.00.

Sounds about right to me for the whole package. I picked up one very similar a while back including a set of RCBS dies. With the same hornady brass and cast bullets I get from a friend locally, I'm probably into my 'package' for about the same, total.

Some info I've scanned from the copy of my old 1st Edition of the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook. The bullet circled is very similar to the one I get from my friend.

So you guys are telling me this revolver is worth only about $250.00?
I paid $45.00/50 rounds of 455.
guess I'll wait a couple of more years and she'll be an antique.
Other option is to shave the cylinder. Sounds silly though. Almost like putting in a Hemi into a Model T Ford.
 
Factory ammo would cost you more than that (when you can find it - Fiocchi makes a batch every now and then.) Ammo and ancillaries added to a gun usually help to sell the package but don't usually increase the total price by what you paid for that ammo and ancillaries. Which is all to say the suggestion that the package is worth $350 doesn't mean the revolver alone would only get $250.

:)Time flies when you're having fun but it doesn't seem all that long ago that they were a dime a dozen so to speak. Now, or at least the ones I've seen lately in 'decent' shape, command a fair dollar. The reason I picked up the one I have is I think anyone heavily involved in handgun shooting, at some time in their life, should own a Webley.

One of the guys I used to work with has one his Grandfather brought over from England many years ago. Looks very much like mine which is in 455 except his is marked 45 Webley. I have a sample cartridge he gave me and it is definately another variation.

If I were you, I'd definitely hang onto it, shoot it, and enjoy it. They don't command the values of 1911s of the same era, unfortunately, but that's all the better for those of us who want to own them.

Having said that, I think the valuation of $350 is fair and I'd buy it at that price, but you could most definitely ask $450 if you so choose.

I'm not attempting to "goose" the market either. I've actually seen Mk. VIs at that price. Would I pay it? That's another question. :D
