I have been gifted a Webley Mk1 revolver in .455. Not from a relative.
The 'little' problem is that the current registration shows it as a prohib.
Doesn't make sense as Mk1 revolvers (not semi autos) date from 1887 which makes them antique. I also uderstand that although centre fire, they are one of the listed calibres that are also 'antique'.
Prior to approaching the CFC for a reclassification, can anyone provide some insight and/or advice?

Because of barrel length it's Prohib. If its still registered, it hasn't been deemed an antique by the CFC yet. You need to submit the paperwork or call them and have the pistol deemed an antique and de-registered.
