Have a Webley MKIII that i have done a bit of research on, is a bit of an oddball. It is a commercial variation sold through the Army Navy CSL stores. It was purchased by a Bernard Head on January 15 1900 shortly before he served in the Boer War. He would go on to serve in the first world war and was killed in Gallipoli in 1915. It has the initials "B HEAD" engraved on the back strap and "FROM CH" engraved on the front strap, not sure who CH is but my guess would be his older brother Christopher Head, who died on the Titanic.
The gun itself is in not bad shape, basically a grey gun with very little finish remaining, unfortunately not safe to fire as the barrel lug is cracked. Whats most interesting about it, other than its service history, is the shape of the frame. I have not been able to find another with the same profile. The grips themselves are a little shrunken/warped with age but the are both serialized to the gun inside. And for some pictures.
