Wondering what books/websites one could read to learn more about the Webley revolvers. I am specifically interested in the MK 1 **'s. Just want to verify what most people say, that the double asterisk indicates being brought up to spec.

I cannot tell you the name or author, but there is a large hard cover book on the history of the company and its guns

Best in print available book on British service pistols is "Howdah to High Power" by Maze. Is the II** a .455" or .380"?

It is a .455, the cylinder has been shaved for .45 acp though.
