Webley RIC revolvers

1867 to 1939.
Some are antique, some aren't.
I have never seen a good serial number vs date of manufacture list.
 
check the trademark on the left side of the frame. A winged hollow based mini ball is pre 1898. A winged solid base bullet is post 1898. I have forgotten the actual date of the change but think it was around 1890 when Webley and Sons became Webley and Scott. Webley used a number of different trademarks so there is no guarantee that a gun will have a winged bullet of either kind

Were not some revolvers still marked Webley & Son after this though?

The initials are the same W & S can stand for both Webley and Sons and for Webley and Scott. You can tell the difference by the trademark with accompanies the initials. Winged mini ball for the sons and winged solid base for the and scott
