The winged projectile is a symbol of the company prior to 1898. In 1897 the company changed form Webley & Sons to Webley & Scott. With this change the logo changed from a hollow based winged projectile to a solid based one. Some hollow based stamped frames were produced and then not assembled into complete guns or repurposed into new guns, sometimes in other countries until a few years after 1897. This does not change the status of the gun and is still an antique.
