Hey guys/gals

I am looking into buying a german p226 but am having a hard time finding sites that will ship parts to canada. Are their any sig sauer specific sites out there just like the glockstore for glocks that are canuck friendly? Only site i found is brownells. Any canuck sites that are sig friendly too? Thanks.

If you're looking for specific parts within Canada, contact MDCharlton for the availability and the part numbers then have your local Sig retailer order 'em for you. I usually ask Casey at TacOrd to order the parts for me and I'll usually get them in just over a week. His markup is pretty much in line with what the big US stores sells them for. Probably cheaper to buy 'em locally now with the exchange rate.

Not according to their website. Besides that though the one major thing i hate about questar is that they are always out of stock. But thanks for the input.

What do you mean not according to their website ?!?

"If there is something you want that we don't offer for sale then you can utilize our unique 3rd Party Purchase Import Service. It allows you to source your products directly from US Vendors and have Questar handle all the import/export issues... right to your door. It's not cheap... but it is done right!

We don't just "farm-out" the US part of your importation like many others who have tried to emulate us... Because Questar has BOTH Canadian and US offices and because we are also a US licensed FFL (Importer & Exporter) we handle the process every step of the way, including the cross border transport, Canadian registration, etc.."

Like I said, you can ORDER pretty much anything from them.

According to their website the only replacement parts they have is the spring kit. Soooooo, if i want to order a firing pin (for example) i have to pay an extra $250 on top of the cost and shipping of the firing pin. I think i'll pass.

Just over a week sounds very reasonable. I will mark down tacord on my list. Thanks.

Lol.

I'm guessing you haven't talked to Scott or anyone else at Questar.

Have a super weekend Brother and best of luck in your hunt for parts.

Special orders from Questar is a crap shoot. It took 9 months to get me a Lone Wolf barrel. Don't get me wrong, I've had great service with items they have in stock but don't hold your breath for special orders or out of stock items.

Then be more specific about your enquiry. Why would you want a firing pin anyway? Did you ever saw a Sig P226 Firing pin? There's no way you ever break that sucker. MD Charlton is the Canadian distributor. If you need something, order it tru your dealer.

The firing pin is an example. You need to read my initial post or maybe i wasn't getting my point across properly. I will give you another example. If a part in my glock fails or breaks i can easily go to the glockstore or lonewolf and order the necessary parts without a lot of hassle. No different than shopping for mags or something. Clearly from what people are saying there is no website that directly sells in stock parts. Questar sure but quite limited. Everything else not listed in the site is a special order which i do not like. Otherwise my best bet is brownells. Not trying to be an a$$. Just looking for a convenient way to shop.

Check out websites Brownells and Numrich. These companies both ship to Canada, and I haven't failed to received product deliveries from them yet.

Numrich is generally more expensive, but they seem to have more variety of parts and more stock; they also have a higher total checkout limit before you need to submit formal import documentation.

Brownells is less expensive, but they may have less availability. They update their site often and parts very often suddenly become available and then get sold out. Brownells also has a $100.00 checkout limit, above which you need to fill out and submit forms.

Since Canadian dollar is weak right now, you have to really want these parts to make it worthwhile.

Another note, Brownells seems to often use the term "firearms parts" when declaring their packages so CBSA will ding you with duties. Numrich on the other hand likes to use terms like "metal springs and rods" so their packages tend to deliver duty-free.
