Wednesday club competitive skeet shoots do they exist?

I am new to skeet shooting and go just about every Wednesday and shoot two rounds. I am also an avid sailboat racer and also do that most weeks. At our sailboat club every week we have a race series for club members. People who participate are ranked and trophies are given out at the end of the year.

At my skeet club they do have weekend competitive shoots a few times a year but I haven’t seen any inter club competitive shooting. Do any of you do competitive inter club shooting series at your club? Would it be something that would be considered running the fun of the game? I would like to suggest it at my club but wanted check I am not proposing something alien or frowned upon.
 
Inter-club competition is pretty common in Southern Ontario but I don't know of any during the week. Our club shoots in the Lower Lakes skeet league which rotates among 5 different clubs but all on the weekend.
 
Orono Fish & Hunt club has a Wednesday trap league - I believe the money goes towards a firearm purchase once enough money is built. I'd rather win a new shotgun than a "club level" trophy, but that's just me :)

I have competed in a lot of sports and many had either cash or equipment prizes or medals, trophies. I personally prefer the medals or trophies as they last forever. Cash and equipment tends to get sold and spent and you have nothing left to recognize your accomplishment. But if we were all the same the world wouldnt be very intresting.
 
been there done that with motocross - I have like 30 trophies in my basement, some of which I gave back to the clubs so they could issue them to the younger racers at club level meets. I never look at them, there are only a few from provincials that I even care about now lol...wish I could sell them for money :D
 
Hello ssbn506, I know your interested skeet but as mentioned by Danimal247. The Orono club has a trap league Wednesday evenings. Its starts in May and will finish late September. Trophies are given to the top three average scores as well as those who shoot 25, 50 , etc. The main prize was a firearm but now we give a money prize. The winner of the main prize is drawn from a hat of shooters which have completed at least 20 sessions. If you want more information PM me.
 
We just started a club league at Uxbridge. Pretty low key, but just getting scores up on the board is a good start. We have it handicapped based on gauge shot and have other categories for age etc. This is 50 birds a week for ten weeks. It runs through the fall until December 1. Members seem to like it.
