I am wondering if anyone is familiar with the Weigand front sight for revolvers. I've been advised that the blanks are very difficult to fit into the base without causing damage to the blade, but looking at the pics, and reading from their website (http://ww w.jackweigand.com/interfs.html) I don't understand why this would be so. Looks to me like a simple deal of backing out the set screw, putting the blade in place, tightening the set screw then pinning it. I'm interested in hearing from anyone with information. Thanks.

Boomer, i have that set-up on a 106mm M19 and liked it enough that I am having it installed on a soon-to-be 106mm M629.

I have a few blades (FO, patridge), and a one was a tight fit, but I just had to 'melt' the bottom machined edges and it works fine. THey are completely interchangeable with newer S&W DX blades, you do not need tools, there is a spriing loaded plunger and the cross pin is fixed. You just push it to the rear and rock the front upward and out.

Not sure exactly what sight you are referring to as the link did not work for me. That said, I have one of Jack's front sights on my 475 Linebaugh that functions in the same way as the S&W M29 Classics with a spring loaded plunger that allows the blades to be swapped out without tools. It works great in the heavy recoiling gun and the blades interchange quite easily.

Very nice Boxhead. Did you send the gun(s) to Bowen with a wish list or did you buy the completed gun(s) from him? I've seen some gems for sale on the Bowen website. Too bad color case hardening isn't more available.
