Got this Carcano in the shop. First weird thing is it says "Made in England" on it which is weird for an Italian gun as well as British markings. Second thing is it looks like a carbine but there are no carbines like this and i've never seen a sporter like this. You guys got any ideas?
Looks like a m1941 rifle cut down which has received Birmingham England commercial proof marks and stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" at the same time. I have saw Canadian Ross rifles with the same stamp.
That is what appears to be stamped on the barrel from what I can make out. I just took delivery of a very nicely done Cooey-Carcano in the same chambering.
