weird question I never thought I would ask!

So many good choices...:)..old Mossbergs, Savage MK II, the CZ's......can't go wrong with any of those...:yingyang:...just need to figure if you want new or used, detachable-magazine or tube-fed....but all are worthwhile purchases....

By the way, are you looking for target-shooting, plinking, gophering or....?

Also, the Russian bolt-actions are pretty popular, and the Norinco EM's seem to have a pretty-devoted following....:D

Gophering would be awesome, but I don't have the opportunity to do it where I am, maybe some time though! Just plinking I guess. I am leaning towards the savage mk II right now. I am watching the EE and I am going to hit Al Flaherty's tomorrow to see what they have. If not I may head up to Epps later in the week.

For what it's worth to you .. I own both the Savage mk11 and a Marlin bolt with the micro groove barrel both new guns ... Both shoot the same very good groups @ 50yds... the Marlin has a better clip system with no feeding problems and a tight fit, where I had to do some minor tinkering to the Savage to work properly BUT the Savage has a nicer trigger system (accutrigger) over the Marlin....so its a coin toss choice. Go to the local gun store and touchie feelie both to see which one fits better for you and thats the one to buy !!!!!

Well, I brought home a Savage Mark II today. I got a wood stock, as the synthetic one was not doing it for me. This should be a fun toy! Thanks everyone for your tips.

Does anyone know what kind of mounts I need to buy so I can use my scope rings (not .22 size rings)?

Lebaron in Montreal has the Winchester Wildcat Varmint/Target model in stock and on sale at $275! I had to order one.
