Weird/uncommon base screw pattern

I've bought a few guns from Corwin a few years ago (they went on hiatus for a few years, only recently came back to the industry). Would absolutely deal with Martin again.

As far as this "shoplify" old web page goes, it is a ghost webpage from 2014. I asked "shoplify" number of times to remove it, they never did it. I have gave up on asking shopify last year so please ignore that page just treat it as a little window to the past.

As you can see the holes are not forward and haft but side to side…
This is a 8mm06 that started it life as a 8x57 it is really accurate and got my spring bear with it open sighted, but wouldn’t mind having the option to mount a scope on it for a back up bison rifle!

I will contact my old employee, he used to do gun smithing for me. He should be able to tell if the hole spacing looks proper for Mauser Sniper mount just from the photos. He converted few rifles for us years ago

I already emailed him, he is on "Usedom time" hiding in his 200 year old cottage that is bone breaking cold no matter if it is winter or summer. He should answer tomorrow. I will post right away
