My neighbour gave me a vintage Lyman 2 1/2 power scope to accompany the Browning T-bolt he's loaning me.
I looked through it and it was out of focus.
"Oh just put your glasses on," he said.
So I put my reading glasses on and sure enough, it was in focus.
But the focus ring was seized as were the externally mounted non-covered turret rings. So I treated them with Fluid Film and got them loose. Turned the focus ring all the way out and all the way in and the lens is still out of focus.
So what's the deal with reading glasses to look through a scope? And why does it come into focus?
I've never done that with my other scopes.
