Well I bought a handgun......

I am finishing a deal with "tangroup" for his Ruger Vaquero 44-40, stainless.......nice addition to my Winchester model 94 in 44-40......can't wait to get back from guiding so I can shoot it.

Nice to join such a great group as you handgunners.......

Just want to thank you guys for helping me chose the right gun. Your input was much valued cause I know very little about handguns. Sounded clear that the Vaquero was the way to go for what my wants were. Not really something I pursued until now. (kinda like my first BP rifle I bought last year)

I got to shoot my brother's Vaquero, as well as a buddies. I instantly felt like Clint Eastwood, except shorter and fatter.

I had my new Vaquero out to the range last week for the first time. Kinda fun to shoot when no one is around.

The fact that I took a chunk outta my left hand fanning the hammer was irrelevant........

Richard Shoots the Ruger 45 Colt S/A

I have a Finnish friend, Mika, on another board and he wanted a range report from me after I shot my Ruger 45 Colt S/A for the first time. I am a D/A revolver shooter and my response was: "Mika, if there are more than five Indians we are in trouble!" Yes, I find S/A revolvers that slow to reload.
