Well, I was going to pick up a rem 700 SPS tac with the 16.5 inch barrel in 223... For a quick light handling gun to play with under 300 yards... Smack an odd yote.

Then I watched this and realised the mini is a nice little rig now. 1 moa with 55 American Eagle.. 2 moa at 250 yards... Not bad at all.

Stumped now! lmao

Bolt action versus semi auto

two different 'disciplines'

Both drop coyotes in 300 yards about the same it seems lol. I would actually put my bet on the mini14 withstanding more of a beating also! The new barrel material for remy's are rust machines and ding up easily.

I THOUGHT that it was internet hear say until I got a new Remington barrel it got a ding in it from something hardly touching it. Not to mention I have to keep such a phat layer of g96 on it I can smell it when I use the damn thing lmao.

I would like to see a mini14 up against a Benelli MR1

This would be very interesting!

In real life if you can find a 1 moa Mini you won the lottery.
In all honesty, I can guarantee you will not get one even close to that if you go that route.

“You can only have that much sh!t movin’ around without sacrificing accuracy” had me laughing. I still love my Mini14 though!

Before or after the initial opening of the wallet?
We all know what we pay for ;
As guntech mentioned two different platforms.
Me, I wouldn’t buy the Remington SPS because of the finish.
But, if your into pow pow pow, then go for the mini.
I’n no help I know, but just an opinion.

I better go buy a lottery ticket then, because I have owned two.

Lol so a vote for neither! The other options are expensive non res battle rifles or a ruger american ranch

This gives me hope.

Handloaded though... never tried factory ammo.. but the target model was as accurate as my M77 MKII and my two buddies Browning A-Bolt and Tikka T3, all in .223... not gonna lie though, it shocked the heck out of the three of us.

Has to be mentioned

You wont be doing and yote dropping with the mini in the video

The 16" barrel is a lot stiffer and a bit more accurate than the nr canadian barrels.

Ive owned several minis all were awesome rifles none could shoot moa.

Ive owned countless Mini 14 and none were MOA but they have downed alot of coyotes, beavers, coons, skunks and badgers. They are 100% fun and 100% reliable in all conditions. Ive also owned pretty much every NR semi on the market and Ive never had one that shot MOA constantly and have never seen any of my friends. Semi Autos arent bolt guns, dont expect bolt gun accuracy.
My only gripe with the Mini 14 is the mag are finicky to seat and lock in.

Love the mini. Like others said not the most accurate gun but reliable and it does the job. Mine will easily hit a target at 200 yards. BTW clays make for fun targets at 200 yards!

I had the Mini 14 last year for a bit and really liked it. Ended up selling it in the end, I found when scoped I couldn't get a decent cheek weld and with the red dot it was decent at 100yrds but not great. Ended up buying a 16.5" 700 for a decent price to replace it and am very happy with that decision.
