They are still made, at least as of Jan 2012.
They like all 50s can not be legally exported from the USA (their rules not ours, thanks to Hilary)
I doubt there are any in Canada as the 50 cal export ban has been in effect for about the same amount of time as these rifles have been available. As for class only the RCMP would know for sure, and unless they did a classification on 1, which I am learning can take forever to get done, they would not classed. Typically something new like that would require a classification inspection.

Not so much Hilary as a global movement to restrict/control firearms....

Hilary is a small fish in a big pond...;)

Between Diane Feinstein and Swartz###### lobbying hard to Hilary who has been running the Dept of State the last few years it was her hand that put pen to ink banning the export of 50 cal stuff from the USA. The fear being brought to light very shortly after 911 that 1 of us Canadian terrorists could drop rounds into Detroit ( as if anyone would really notice) from Windsor, or a number of other parts along the border where there are cities on both sides of the imaginary line.
We can and do import 50 cal rifles from many countries in Europe with relative ease in comparison to importing almost everything from our southern neighbors and allies.

Yep...however the U.S. is the biggest supplier of firearms and ammo out there...Once they have "corralled" the U.S. then they can start working on picking away at gun rights...Don't kid yourself this is a GLOBAL movement and there are powerful forces out there that don't take to kindly to private gun ownership...

Don't want to hijack this thread so all I'll say is that keep your eyes and ears open...you might be suprised to learn who is all behind this UN resolution...
