I just came across this post on the S&W Forum, from a guy in Kansas:

"Consecutive numbered British Columbia Police Dept. 38/44 Heavy-Duties"
Serial # 61905 & 61906.

"Both guns were transferred over to the individuals when they merged the BCPP into the RCMP. They were allowed to purchase them upon being issued other sidearms."

Yah I saw that, seems alot of these BC constabulary S&W 38/44's have been sold out of country! I can't even find one for my collection,damb!
Those 2 pistols are the best you could ever hope for!
