Knowlton is Southeast of Montreal. It is a Arts-and-Pharts town amazingly to have such a neat collection!

Regards,
Henry;)

The items in the Annex at Knowlton were donated from the war trophy collection of Canada and placed into the building when it was first opened in 1921-22.
Records indicate far more G98s being donated than are there. On the other hand, they still have the Parabellum, captured 08-15, belt loaders, trench mortars and numerous bits and pieces. No, the museum is not interested in either selling, trading or improving the display conditions of anything there.

Did the Gew98's grow legs and walk out?

If a visitor is in the area, go to Frelighsburg and navigate west past the agricultural station and turn south on Eccles Hill Road. There is a big granite monument to the victory of locally raised and privately armed citizens who repelled a Fenian invasion in 1870. Yup, farmers with rifles and a single trained officer, beat back columns of armed Irish nationalists intent on freeing Canada from the yoke of English imperialism. Didn't work.
