well all.....
the dirty deed to get in the draw for the moose tag,s ..is a done deal..now to sit and wait to see the outcome. hoping a bull tag is it
we are going to area 8....
what did you,s apply for? and were you going?

also i have to ask.... for all the people that apply for non group draws... how often do you,s get a tag and in what area?

We apply as a group for a bull in 12B,north of Thunderbay. We usually get a bull tag.We have a couple of guys that apply as individuals as well.I think in the past 12 years they might have gotten 2 tags.Good luck Fogducker.

I applied for 42 which is close to sudbury :)

BAC4, isn't Thunderbay a bit of a drive?

My god, looking at area 8 is like a 14 hour drive

Thunder Bay is about 18to19 hours away from Toronto
our area is about 22 hours away

Why do you guys drive so far to hunt moose? Is it because there are more tags? How many days does the hunt usually last you? Wow thats far. Why not just go to Kenora, I have been there and I have seen lots of moose.

Geez

I am going to area 5 in Ear Falls, we have about a 26 hour drive to our set-up point. Good news is we have enough pool 1 applicants that we are guranteed 2 bull tags and 1 cow tag.

Why so far? I mean if you flew in to there then sure but 26 hours of driving sucks

Little hunting pressure, easy to get tags, lots of moose. Actually the drive sounds worse that it really is. Its definetly better than going to Austrailia and being couped up in a plane for 24hours!!;)

Cereal83-It's about an 18 hr drive for us.We get a bull tag every year and don't see a lot of other hunters. This started as a family hunting group.with most of the hunters from Timmins and Tbay and a few from T.O.My buddies uncle dropped out and I got invited.Been going to the same area for the past 12 years and enjoy every minute of it.Can't wait for October to roll around.

Geez
Kenora is further away for us

We own a camp in 29 and apply for archery. Bull tags need 14 and cows you need 2. We just got back from opening the camp and saw moose every day in front of the camp and 3 bear on the road in, 2 in the bush while fishing. No calfs seen this year in our area. Excellent fishing and lots of bugs.

I am looking at buying something just an hour south of Kirkland lake. The guy I was talking to who is selling the property said he doesn't hunt but he always saw lots of moose and other animals around there so next year I might be going 8-9 hours north instead of 4-5.

I looked at it and it's accually in wmu #28
