Ahhh........should have said pre-Sako days. Sako bought the firearms business of Tikkakoski Oy in 1983. So were any sold here prior to 1983 is the question?
Sure thing, the Tikka M65 was made in the 1970's to the early 1980's. The M65 was a .30-06 length action; the M55 was similar but the action was shorter for calibers .222 through .308.
Ithaca imported many of these rifles as the Ithaca LSA-55 and LSA-65, and they can still be found here for sale.
and the quality of Tikka rifles has declined every time a new model was introduced by Sako....of course Sako had to do something because the M55 amd M65 were as good or better than any Sako. I've owned 4 M55/65's and about a dozen Sakos....
X2, I've had my eye on a LSA m55 in 6.5x55. Sweet rig....And they're priced in line with the older Sako models, which is an indication of the quality.
Check again,..I think the 55 is too short for the 6.5 Swede...might be a 65...
TradeEx shows an M65 in the 6.5 Swede...
