Besides Marstar and Tradex were is the best place to find parts preferably PB marked? Trying to slowly piece together an M1 on a Beretta receiver

Ive been looking for PB parts too they seem hard to come by. Check the EE theres a couple guys that sell stuff mostly SA stuff. Numrich has stuff i just find their website difficult to browse. Good luck with the build.

PB and BMB/BMR parts are hard to find. Some vendors from Italy are selling various small PB parts on ebay, but they are quite pricey. Marstar has a miscellany of Garand parts. Some might be PB. Most will need re-Parkerizing as do a lot from Numrich and Sarco. Other than that troll the EE. Before getting into a Garand build I recommend purchasing a copy of Kuhnhausen's comprehensive shop manual on the M1/M14. It is the best single technical reference available on the Garand and is available from Brownells for $50. Cheaper than a Garand elevation pinion nowadays, but well worth it.

There is an appeal to building a parts correct Beretta or Breda rifle and I built a few years ago when parts were more available. Nowadays you are doing well to assemble a serviceable set of any make of GI parts. Remember that all parts from any of the 4 US makers and 2 Italian makers are interchangeable. Nowadays it's very hard to locate a Beretta or Breda made barrel, stock or op rod. Most of the other parts do turn up.

There is a group of collectors in the U.S. that do parts exchanges to get specific manufacturers, for some they can be very pricey. Try "Garand Collectors parts exchange" in your search engine.

I figured I wouldn't be able to do a 100% PB or BMB/BMR. Sounds like a good buy will have to find a copy for myself. Thanks for the info

You probably could do a 100% build. It would likely just take a lot longer to find all the parts.

It took me a year and a half but I managed to find all the metal parts for a PB and BMB garand. I was hoping to do two of each but I am a couple parts short for the second set of guns. Mostly eBay and a few local guys. I was not able to find BMB stocks. Marstar had some stuff but they could not guarantee they would be marked PB or BMB. My best finds were buying bubba'd rifles and taking parts off. Expensive and time consuming but worth it! Goodluck!

Forgot but I have a bunch of spare parts. Let me know if/what you need. Front sight, follower arm amd rod, plug, band, bolts, etc. I don't have any spare PB barrels, op rods or butt plates.

Sarco has Italian Terni stocks, made as 7.62 and converted to 30/06. Brand new and cheap. ;) Betting this would be correct.
