Well if a person wanted literally one gun to do it all in North America, Europe, Africa and Australlia as well as other places I'd say the .300 Winchester would have most of your bases covered. It's powerful enough for large animals, but still capable of shooting smaller critters too. I've had a couple and they've been very accurate as well. Now most hunters don't hunt elk or moose. Their more inclined into going out once or twice a year with a deer tag. For that, the .300 Savage is all a guy really needs. Of course, it will probably work just fine on elk and moose too. Pick one, and you won't go wrong.
