Hi,

I have been using Winchester PP 180gr and S&B 150gr factory ammo in my sporterized fazerkely No.4mk1 and am pretty happy thus far (both loads are very similar in accuracy).
Best groups @ 100m about 1", worst about 3", average about 2" (the rifles is scoped with a 2-7 Bushnell Legend).

I realize each rifle will perfom differently but what factory loads have you found best in your Lee enfield? What do you prefer?

Have you found much POI difference between brands (of the same bullet weight)?

Remington
Winchester
Federal
S&B
Privi

Thanks

I like this stuff:

I use whatever I can get cheap. I bought 250 rounds of Reming Core-Lokt for $13/box at Wal-Mart a little while back. I also have some Igman. They all shoot the same for me, all 180gr.
If I decide to take the old #5 out for deer this year I might buy some primo stuff (if it even exists), or just use the Rem.

I find the Winchester X shoot quite good around the 1" if I do my part. I have tried many
powders with premium Sierra Match Kings 174gr and best I have been able to do is 3/4" 5 shot groups, really not worth to reload if you can get deal on Winchesters X

Where are you guys buying your .303 ammo? My local Wally World only has Win soft points in stock and I would like to have a better choice than one.

From what have seen at our wally, all they carry is Winchester and the odd box of Federal .22's. Crappy tire here carries Remington, Winchester and Federal .303. The Remington and Federal cost five bucks more then the Winchester so when I buy factory, thats all I get.

price

I have noticed the canadian tire price issue -
Fed and Rem at $29 and Win at $24

Thanks for the replies.
Internet 'research' seems to find many who favour the Winchester 180gr PP's

Thank you, gentlemen. I have not looked in our local Crappy Tire for ammo lately, I will have to wander by and see what they have. Wholesale Sports is an easy lunch trip from my office, too. I guess a visit there is in order as well.

My favourite factory ammo? Dominion 1943 Mk. VII ball. Goes bang every time, kicks like a mule, and has one hell of a bark outta my Jungle carbine :D.

For hunting it's Win. 180gr PP CXP3's
For targets , I'll go to the local gunshop and pick up Remington/UMC 174gr FMJ's
Otherwise , I'll keep a lookout for any milsurp ammo and sometimes get lucky at a gunshow.

winchester PP. Its the only .303 ammo I can get cheap.

Same. I used to buy Remington core-lockts, and way back Dominion 200 grainers(no longer produced?). Remington CLs are abouut $35 @ LeBaron, and UMC is 30, but the winchester stuff is only 20-23. 1.10$ a round vs.1.50 a round. BTW this is a box of 20.
I wish i knew how to hand load!!!!!!!
