Simple thread fellas,

Got my boys up this morning and looked out in the back yard only to see a momma moose and baby moose 75 yards out having breakfast in my willows:eek:

They had a great coat and the calf was 3/4 the size of the cow. What a great thing to eat your breakfast to.:D

Got a camera for christmas for times just like that and where was it? At work:mad:

Next time I guess..........

Figured I tell you anyway.....

I hear ya! We had an acreage 20min out of town and every morning "our" moose and her calves would be bedded 50 yards from my kitchen window :) Even shot a young bull on the last day of the season one year, right out the back door. Those were the days. But thats OK, we just had our offer accepted two days ago on a quarter section farm smack dab in mule deer central, 15 minutes from town! :D Life will be good again ;) :D ...KF

I'm booking my flight :D

Not at home, but evening before moose season, we just set up camp, and were out scouting, and happened upon a 40" bull eating leaves, 30 ft of the trail. Only bull we saw that week, but saw 5 cows/calves, no shots at calves, and we had a bull tag. I did get a pic of the bull, but it's hard to see, just his ass walking away...

The only game I can shoot from my back door is turkeys, and the odd coyote or whitetail.

new calf? already or last years?

Had to be last years. It was one big calf.

The nose wasn't quite hanging over like mommas and it was about 3/4 the size of momma so it had the "youngster look" but not the newborn look. It sure was tall and thick.

Had no problem getting the boys up today ha,ha.:D They snapped out of bed and went straight to the window.:p

I hear ya! Last weekend we were out and saw more game then I'd seen all year. We were on our way to a quarter we hunt to try for yotes. The quarter next to ours had 2 moose and about 60 Muleys! We did have a camera in the truck, but it wasn't light enough to get a good shot. Then we get set up on our quarter overlooking a nice meadow and 2 more moose come from the bush! They were 2 cows about 100yards away. We were down wind and camoed, so they had no idea we were there. They played for a few minutes right in front of us then left. The camera was in the truck! Very nice to see!

4 out of 5 mornings I see 2 cow and calf pairs in the same field. Last week there has been some logging in the area and I have missed them.

Then 3 minutes later I hit an alfalfa field full of wt's.

I love spring. What a great way to start your day!!!!!!!!!
