Just got my XR-100 Rangemaster in 22-250. I have mostly only shot 22lr. in the past. 2 litre coke bottles filled with water blow-up REAL nice. What do most target/gopher shooters prefer, bi-pod or sandbag?:D :D :D

I have both a bag and a bipod for my savage... definately the bag gives you a more stable platform. I bought this one in the pic at SIR, filled it with green split peas from safeway's bulk section. :D

What's the shiny bit on the end of the barrel? Did you get a custom job done?

Shown with my "bean bag", is a Ruger 10/22 sporting a Butler Creek 18" carbon fiber barrel. I love this set up!
Ahhh, I see the light now! Being a noob, I thought the rifle was a savage and I hadn't seen one with a barrel like that!

Bipods all the way. I'm too lazy to carry my Caldwell bag around in the field. Harris bipods are much faster to deploy even if bags are likely more stable.

See what works for you and your style. If you are like me, I've got BOTH.

My Caldwell bag is filled with tumbling media (corncob)... lots lighter than the split peas.

Cheers,
Barney

I always use a Harris bipod in the field and bags at the range. I have this feeling you'll love your .22-250 once you see what it can do!

I just got an XR 100 in .22-250 as well, it is a beaut, dumping the next bullet into the last hole, it is ACCURATE!!

I have let fly at quite a few pop bottles as well but actually I find that beer cans filled with water, or probably beer as well but too cheap to find out really blow up nice.

Anyway, love the XR,
