Hey everyone!
So, to my delight, I finally received my Brooks weaver adapter from Eric Brooks.. It was about 2 months late, but hey.. It's here. Now it is finally time to mount my scope on my CZ 452 American.
I bought what I thought were signature zee rings from Russell Sports.. They are labelled 'Custom Steel Zee rings'.. So I guess they are just the regular Zee rings. I have never used rings with what I describe as a 'crossbolt' in them, although I am sure there is another word for it. You will see what I mean in the pictures
Anyhow.. I attached my Brooks weaver adapter to the rimfire base of the CZ.. No problems there.
Now.. I try to attach my rings to the bases... Not working :/ At all.
The bolt that is supposed to tighten the ring onto the base will only thread on in the 'empty section' that lies inbetween the section of the base.. However, when I tight this in the empty section, it tightens all the way, but it slides back and forth freely as this empty section is bigger then the bolt..
What is going on!??! I feel like I am missing something very basic here.. The crossbolt is obviously not meant to go through like that, and it makes me feel kind of stupid, but I can't figure out whats up.. Did I buy the wrong set of parts? I thought I bought a pretty nice pair of rings for my .22, but its not working out with this weaver adapter base. However, Eric Brooks recommends these rings right on his card that comes with the bases!
