What am I not covered for?

Meh the 25-06AI shoots flatter with less recoil..:stirthepot2: and you can get it factory chambered in a Cooper!!

But if you factor in the cost of a Cooper rifle as compared to oh say a WBY vanguard in .257...that would alone buy a few rounds of wby ammo just with the savings. An if you look at the cost of dies for both..the WBY probably wins again...and if you handload, brass for a .257 is easy to find in here..Plus you dont have to fireform any thing...looks like the .257 WBY wins this one out...looks like a lot of pluses for the .257...w:h:

Im probably gonna take some flak for this but here goes...
.25 or .243 WSSM if you can find it. you reload so that parts cool.
they are so much fun and a short mag of some kind would fill out your arsenal nicely.

17hmr, 204Ruger, 220Swift, 6mmbr, 7mag (280's can only dream :D), 300Winchester (with someone to show you its capabilities ;)), 416 (any 416)....Everybody should own a 416!

The great thing about the 6.5x55 is that you can spend anywhere between $150 and $3000, and still get a shooter :)

Now I will really stir the pot: if you had a 270, you wouldn't need the rest!

Seriously though, a fine collection. Everything needed to be taken with a rifle can be with that fine assortment.

Great post by the way.

Some great ideas. I guess I may need more than just another one! A lot of these I have had zero experience with so some research may be in order. I like the 270 just fine, but when it came down to buying the 375 I had to let either my 270 or my 06 go(I really like my new m70 so the 270 had to go). Didn't find enough practical use to have them both and the 270 ended up sitting in the safe for two seasons. Some of those A.I.'S look fun. The 35 whelan and 6.5 have my interest perked as well. A 416 rigby is a must have some day, just for the cool factor. Not sure what I would actually use it for. Thanks for the suggestions, the dreaming and planning is half the fun!
KO

1) 6.5x55 classic Mauser, perhaps a full stock carbine
or..
2) a classic english express rifle in .404 Jeffery

failing that a .25-06 or .257 Roberts AI but given that you have many practical choices there I would go with someing a bit more classic-exotic, like a nice Euro metric!
