Hey Guys,

I picked up a Lakefield 64B a couple months ago to try my hand at a semi auto .22 and I'm hooked on the semi's now, (I want another one). However, it seems to be a little sensitive to different types of ammo, it works great with the Federal 36 grain bulk ammo (525 rounds), CCI stingers and American Eagle 38 grain. But it won't even cycle the bulk winchester hollow point, I think it is the superX or Xpert 36 grain, it is the stuff that comes in 500 rounds white box.
Anyways was works best in your 64b and what doesn't? Any help would be great, thanks

Mine cycles most anything I put in it. I've learned that the 64B has somewhat tight tolerances, and needs to be disassembled and cleaned every 500 rounds or so.
On another note: I've shot the Winchester 22 Expert bulk stuff in my AR-7 and because of the square type nose, I find they hang up on the edge of the chamber. I don't shoot those anymore because aside from that, they shoot horribly inaccurate in most of my rifles.KD

For both of mine, anything that's high to hyper velocity to keep the stoppages down. Federal Classics and CCI Quick Shoks are a favorite.

Ditto,

Yellowjackets and stingers are the only types that will cycle reliably in my 64. I SLIGHTLY modified the firing pin so that when struck, it extended through the bolt a little further, making more reliable contact with the rimfire primer.
