What Ammo you using for your best zeroing?

First you need to get enough ammo of the same load that will shoot consistently. If you plan to shoot at different distances your point of impact will change no matter what brand of ammo you use.
I shoot my ar with irons so I estimate the distance and poi with particular brand of ammo and it usually spot on.

Same weight bullets flying the same velocity typically follow the same trajectory.
Most bulk ammo follows either the 193 or 855 pattern so theres typically not much change in the point of impact between brands.
By best zero do you mean tightest group size?

Yes that to what bullets and brand are giving you the best group size, I'm finding that the federal XM193 on a 50yd zero my best so far is 1 1/2 grouping and the odd one or two spray out 4 inches.. I'm not sure if that is normal where as when shooting PMC X-Tac 62gr green tip I can get 1" grouping.. this is out of my Stag 3TM 16" barrel 1:7 twist. I just thought My groups should be better. Or should I be satisfied with this and carry on.. Most of my shooting is 10 to 250 yds.
