What AR trigger ,and where ??

I agree with sparrow.

The standard trigger is the most reliable and can be cleaned up (with caution) to remove creep.

I have no experience with the Giesselle but have heard good things about them. I think ArmsEast might have them? If someone can please confirm?

I do have experience with the RRA Two Stage National Match Trigger. They are easy to install yourself and are a vast improvement to the standard trigger. No problems with it so far. You can order it from Questar and possibly FAB Sports.

If you are using your AR for run & gun, tactical shoots or just plinking thern the stock trigger is just fine. My beleif is that there is no place for a NM trigger in a "working class" gun.

If however you want to shoot precision or BR etc then yes a nice Giselle or Timney.. for that matter most "brand name" NM triggers are a considerable step up from the stock model.

Most supporting AR dealers such as Arms East, Questar , Wolverine etc will be able to supply what you are looking for.

Regards,

One of the gun geeks I read makes a distinction between the 'assault rifle' and the 'battle rifle'. He calls the carbines and M4's 'assault rifles' for close quarters work -and the long range full size service guns 'battle rifles'.

I am a fan of the old school battle rifle and all my shooting is from positions where I sling up and take my time on slow fire bullseye work. I will get a match trigger group ASAP.

need no $

You can make a stock AR trigger half pound and reliable with no shekels spent

I do - all my trigger jobs - any poundage - its all about proper spring bending.

For smoothness - Polish - not remove metal on sear surfaces -

I wouldn't hesitate to use a RRA two stage in a run-n-gun event or course - same goes for a Giesselle; at least the SR model.

I would definately recommend against the '5 minute trigger job'. All you'll end up with is two buggered up trigger springs, and eventually over time - worn out pins &/or hammer. If you can afford to buy and feed an AR, you can afford a proper match trigger, if that is what you are after.

i have a JP model 3lb. pull on it.... don't remeber model name or #... it's nice, but i haven't compared with otheres to see the differences...
you can adjust the reset & pull lengths.... I can't remember the price, but if must have been decent if I bought it... and they delivered it straight to me...

I could not have said it better

The RRA 2 stage trigger is easy to get here in Canada and works well. I tried a JP spring kit, but I wasn't pleased with the result.

Have u ?
