Yeah, much more expensive here...for reference, mine with a MI quad rail and scope mount, trigger kit, stormwerkz stock adaptor, and straight stock sold local for 1450. I had MANY other takers after that incase the deal fell through...

A guy in the US owes me a bunch of money. If he can cough up enough to fund one of these, it'd be nice.
Are these chambered in 5.56 or .223? Because 5.56 might make it hard to get through the border . . .

I believe the newer ones are labelled .223, though there are some, like mine, which are labelled 5.56mm:
I guess your best bet would be to specify to them that it must be labelled .223 in order to allow for export from the states. Also, make sure you get the 20 inch barrel model, because if you get the 18 inch model, it'll be considered restricted.

The last batch in Canada were still marked 5.56. I've got two of them.
If that's the case, I wonder if the last batch came in just before the US decided to stop allowing rifles marked 5.56 be exported, or if it was afterwards and they made an exception for them.

It was afterwards, but every so often the US seems to approve export of 5.56 marked rifles. Makes no sense to me but I'm not complaining. The latest batch of Colt 6920's and 6940's are 5.56 marked as well. I believe that some MFG's are just stamping their rifles as 223 Rem. or 223 Wylde ( XCR eg.) even though they have 5.56 chambers just to negate the possibility the export cert. will be denied.
