I have a Winchester model 70 pre-64 made in 1963 that was handed down to me by my grandfather. It's a .270 sporter with a raised comb stock and it's missing the rear sight, front sight and hood. I've been looking for some information on what the correct sights may be? I've gathered quite a bit of mixed information and was hoping someone could shed some light on the subject.
From what I understand is if the rear sight should be a lyman 16B with the raised comb stock and should either be a lyman 103? or 37? for the front sight.
Can anyone confirm or decline that these are the correct numbers for my rifle, it would be greatly appreciated.
Are there some simple ways of identifying a correct front hood for my model 70?
Thanks, Joel
