Looking to get one for plinking... never had a revolver, always wanted one.

Can't be bothered to get into reloading .38 Spl/.357 so I'm thinking .22LR for some cheap fun.

Anything under $600 that is decent? Not much coming up on EE search, but then again I don't have anything specific to look for...

The Ruger 4.2" SP 101 is what I'd want today but they are not exactly easy to find these days and would probably be over $600.
Used Mod 17 Smiths pop up now and again for around $500 on the EE. I think there are some taurus models out there as well as another brand that escapes my mind......
Other used guns that are less money would be Arminus HW9's and H&R's
Maybe try a wanted to buy in the EE.

I just went through this a couple weeks ago. I ended up buying a used S&W K17 for $550. Ill tell you why...The one I really wanted is a 10 shot SS S&W 617, BUT it is over $850. Forget about the Ruger SP101, there are none to be found. The Taurus 94 is a decent pistol, but its the same price as the used Smith...choice is obvious . Last and definitely least is the $499 Charter Arms revolver which is so fricken hideous that I wouldn't buy it for half that, jmho.

I have a 17-4. Have to echo the previous sentiments. Very nice gun. I paid 700.00 for mine, probably a bit too much but it came with the original box.

The Ruger Single Six is not double action but is not expensive new, even in stainless. It is a great little gun and is available as a convertible so you can shoot .22 Mag or WMR rounds as well as .22LR. The .22 Mag round is a fun round to shoot. If you go this way I would get the longer bbl. model as the Mag round is really a rifle round and has slower burning powder. I got the Mag due to reading about the FN 5.7x28mm round and the Mag is close for a hell of a lot less $$, I think $1400 for 1000 rounds.

When searching the EE you may have better luck if you change the setting to last year instead of last 2 weeks. It is lower down in the options.

With a bit of patience you should be able to find a good used S&W 17 or even a 617.
Besides E.E., there are also a few shops that occationally get them in used.
I got mine at Williams Arm, but that was a couple of years ago.
Wish I could recommend Epps, because they have a large used gun selection,
but I'm not computer litterate enough to navigate their site.
"klause enuff"'s buying price of 700 bucks is not out of line, in todays market (IMO), for a life time of enjoyment.

Also consider the High Standard, Iver Johnson and Harrington & Richardson medium sized .22 revolvers for a good recreational shooter. $200 should do it.
