Hello,
I'm used to reloading handgun cartridges on a progressive press & carbide dies.
Now, i'm about to start reloading .223 for my AR15. I've bought everything needed. Mostly Lee products, since my press is the Pro 1000 (and dies are the Lee Pacesetter). But it'll be the 1st time i reload rifle cases and i found lots of different variations for the order of the steps to perform to prepare the cases.
So i would like to see a flowchart of the basic steps (tumbling/lubing/sizing/re-tumbling (to remove lubing)/chamfering/cutting/primer pocket cleaning/etc...) for prepping once-fired cases.

Thanks!

the steps I take for my .223....lube with fingers inspecting each cart, deprime and full length size, pocket clean, prime, powder, install bullet. I have yet to tumble and my rifle likes it that way. New brass seems to wander.

Tumbling is a fairly recent operation in reloading. Thirty or forty years ago there was no tumbling, period. Read any of the old books on reloading and you will never come across the word. I have old rifle brass around that has been reloaded as many as fifteen, or more times, and never been tumbled. I wouldn't hesitate to reload them again tomorrow. The brass just changes color, but so what!
