Hi all.

Just wanted some opinions on the best scope rings to get for a Swiss Arms Classic green rifle. I recently purchased a Bushnell 6500 elite 4.5x30-50 scope and some millet tactical (med height) from Frontier Firearms(great service). When i got them the scope rings were too short as the scope eye piece would hit the diopter site . So i put on a riser but now the scope seems to be too high on the rifle. Should i opt for the high Millet tactical rings or go with something else.

Would appreciate opinions from other Classic Green owners that have scoped their gun in a similar fashion. Is there a 20 MOI rail i can put on this rifle also? is it worth it to do this?

Thanks

RDG

The scope is always gonna be high if your trying to fit it over the diopter sight. I had a 3-12x50 S&B on a classic green with a B&T rail and I used some badger ordnance rings from Wolverine. It all depends on the dimensions of your eyepiece. You'll definitely want a cheek piece.

I wish I had an answer for you but I think you'll have to either go into a store or talk to someone on the phone who knows what they are talking about....TSE gunsmiths.

I used some Burris Xtreme Extra-high rings on my Black Special. When the diopter sight was turned to the open (100 yd) setting the scope sat in the notch of the rear sight. Hope this helps

That is one of my very few big beefs with Swiss Arms. To clear the rear sight, the scope is literally towering over the gun. Then, you need to add a blocky looking cheek riser; ugly and ungainly looking, ruining the aesthetics of the gun. If you want a Swiss Arms and you want optics, you should go for a Black Special Target model instead.

Yah you are right.. in retrospect i realize that this purchase was a bit of a quick thought. But i do really like the rifle and it was a good price. Perhaps my next one will be the Target model.

I got some cheap weaver rings High and have a Nikon Buckmaster on mine and it clears nicely. I had to play around with it a bit so I could get a good sight picture and my first attempt was a failure and I ended up taking the scope off and shot with the battle sights.

I went shooting paper the other day with this combo and 62gr Rem ammo and was impressed. Almost as good as my HMR with the odd flyer. I think that was my fault though.

I use a cheek riser on my target model....it raises the position of the head for prone mag supported shooting. Far more comfortable shooting - if you're into that sort of thing.....

Mine came with a Sig Cheek piece

Where did you get that lower? are they easy to import? interested only because of mag issue.

They are non-exportable.

There are a couple that are in Canada however, and I found one of them. It's milled not stamped, and built like a tank... like anything on a Swiss Arms/SIG Bastard Child should be.

Thanks, will keep my eyes open for the others and will check to see if I can have one milled.
