What are the most accurate 9mm standard pistols?

Not sure anyone can answer this question without bias since I don't know of any scientific testing that has been done.
I would conjecture that a long-barrelled, metal gun would be more accurate than a plastic, short-barrelled carry pistol.
Probably the type of ammunition used in the gun plays an important role as well.

Hi-point in 9mm (just kidding, but not totally) I would say that a gun with a fixed barrel would be more accurate than a tilting barrel. Hi-points, although ghetto in every way, can be , like most fixed barrel pistols, very accurate. I had one in .40 s&w and it was amazingly accurate. Too bad I could only use it when nobody else was at the range.........:puke:

Some experts claim that designs play a huge role in accuracy. Browning designs have a barrel that tilts, some claim that over time poi shifts from poa versus a rotating locking design. I can't say that it is significant enough to say one is inherently more accurate than the other
At least in my experience.

Also I'm wondering what you mean by 'standard' pistol? Like a typical LE or military issue?

-The Swiss P210 has a strong reputation and came with 3 shot, sub-5cm test targets at 50 metres.
-Some guys is the US with amazing collections, did (or at least tried to do) a more systematic practical accuracy test on a number of higher end 9mms. The Sig P226 X Five and the German P210 Supertarget 6" came out on top for them. Under 1" at 25 yards.
-Lots of hyper accurate 1911s out there.
-The US Army Marksmen Unit used a modified Beretta 92 capable of under 1" at 50 yards apparently.

I would take all that with a big grain of salt however. As pointed out, guns are more accurate than their users. Practically speaking, I think anything or anyone that can shoot a 2" groups at 25 yards from rest is very solid. Lots of guns should be capable of that with the right practice. Hard to see more than that without an optic.

Lol I like these threads. I also especially like when people read them, then go out and buy these guns, then get mad when they're "not very accurate".

Like just about everyone has said, most pistols can outshoot most people. Buuuuut the P210 is regarded as one of the most inherently accurate 9mm pistols out there.

Even the cheapest Turkish and Chinese offerings are more accurate than the average shooter would notice. A designated 9mm target pistol is going to surpass most in accuracy but again, a casual shooter would not notice

While I never had a sig210, the best , out of the box was a new steel 941 Jericho, 4 1/4 in .
My custom 1911 in 45 would do better.
The HK P7 m13, and pcp could , if I really tried, but while the guns where great, I never shot them a lot , so never got real good with them, those have 106mm barrels, so about the same as my 4 in revolvers that do it for me.
I have shot hi end target guns that will put all in the 10 ring, but that is not what we are talking about.

I had a couple young ladies, first time shooting a gun , one shot my smith m19 4 in and shot a 90 on a slow fire target
Youngest granddaughter kept all the 9mm in the rings, Her first time with a pistol as well, a surplus 941, crap ammo.

But I have tried with the same guns to teach, and have had one that just could not hit any target , no matter what we tried.

Note: I was assuming the shooter was out of the equation. (i.e., the gun was mounted on a sled or something)
I agree that the shooter's abilities are far more important than the choice of modern handgun.
