My wife bought a whack of .300WSM stuff (up in the EE) that I can't use, but not sure what they are, if they're reloads or factory ammo, the writing on the box in felt says 165gr Hornady, some are red tipped, some are black looking, appears to be polymer tips. Any help or info would be great, hard to sell them without knowing what they are.

Even though the pic was taken with a potato, they look like a moly coated bullet that the moly is wearing off of from being rubbed. Hornady doesnt list a 300 WSM factory load in their ammo section but maybe they are old? Hornady doesn't make moly 30 cal bullets any more but maybe someone did some at home or something. Check this link for the 3 or 4 polymer tip 165g versions

Yeah, I realize the pic isn't the best, I'll take a better one of just the rounds on my tablet when I get home and put them up, and I'll say what the brass is too, maybe that will help determine? Moly makes sense, as the black/dark tips definitely are the same as the red, just faded or rubbed off. I don't know much about ammo, but if I'm going to sell or trade these, I'd like to know what they are and what the value is roughly. Thanks!

Value of someone else's reloads is $0. It's not legal to sell reloads unless you are a licensed commercial manufacturer.
Whoever sold you that should be booted from the EE.
You can tear them down to individual components, sell the bullets and brass, powder is good fertilizer.

Still terrible pictures, but with the expansion ring around the head, the carbon on the outside of the neck, and lack of crimp, 100% someone's reloads.

Late to the game but, those bullets look like Winchester XP3's. I believe they came out in 2006 in 150, 160 and 180 grain weights. They replaced the Fail Safe bullet. Don't know if a 165g made an appearance before the XP3 went the way of the dodo.

I'd not put a lot of trust in felt tip writing on a bag or box.

XP3's have the same coating as the Ballistic Silver Tips..... lubalox, these ones are moly coated. Also XP3's only come in nickel plated cases.
