Dryfiring at a wall or neighbours cat?
Posting pictures of yourselves in ghillie suits on social media?
Taking up air rifle or BB guns to keep practice up?
Relentlessly buying new gear now that you have all this free time on your hands?

I know what I am up to, but what is CGN doing in the wake of our "new normal"?

Honestly it hasn't changed much for me.

My range is still open, so I go there once a week. Every day, I'll shoot air rifles as well as occasionally get some dry firing in with my precision rifles.

So I'm pretty much shooting every day.

What has been impacted was a train-up and match I was supposed to attend this year is not going to happen for me and my group. We were going to shoot the MDT steel challenge, and do a private training class with Jake Vibbert and Jon Pynch prior to the match. Since a lot of our group was coming to the UK, we have decided to postpone until next year.

I hope to get some big national PRS/NRL matches in, we will see how the calendar shakes out once this COVID-19 BS blows over.

Same as usual. The mile range I go to is still open, business as usual. The only thing changed is that any competitions are cancelled until further notice.

Every weekend I go, there is hardly any one there.

Annealing brass. Sorting brass. Trimming brass. Dry firing with my M1A in the basement. All productive stuff. Even made a few knife sheaths out of (dumpster recovered) PVC pipe 1/16” thick stuff.

I’m not ready to work with Kydex, the real stuff. Right now PVC is very forgiving and cheap to find.... ha ha ha ha
Stay safe, stay calm, stay motivated and busy. Look after the team/crew/family who have your back...

Cheers, Barney

mostly still working from home. Some few breaks for house repairs. Every once in a while slip out to our farm to go bang (but that's still pretty wet lowland so nothing beyond about 25 yards until the "range" dries out. Of course that leads to some cleaning time .. Growing sprouts to extend the salad makings and making own sourdough bread. Getting quite good (well, at least people aren't laughing at me any more) at this video meeting tech.

Trimming and prepping brass. Going to re bed my M1A with a little more front end pressure. Replaced the rear hooded aperture with a Shooting Sight . 0460” and a lens, adjustable NM trigger, adjustable spindle valve-staying positive about my chances to try out the updates. Picked up a John Wolfe heavy 1-11 stainless short chambered barrel for it.

Dry fire with my service rifles

Prep ammo for TR and bolt guns for when ranges re open. Going to introduce a buddy to precision rifles at longer than 100 yards.

Wait for a couple of barreled actions to come back from the gun plumber.

Daydream about shoving a banana cream pie in JT’s face like that guy did with Chrétien back in the day. That was awesome and done as the charm of the LPC was waning back then. History will repeat itself.

Went out with the rimfires to plink some gophers with a buddy

.. as we were packing up our gear into the truck to leave, along the gravel road came an older gentleman in a black & yellow Detomaso Pantera, slowly driving so as to not throw up any gravel..

probably my favourite car of all time. It was a nice ending to a beautiful day.

I'm working..... every day .

I supervise the operations of one of the fastest tissue paper machine in the country... Apparently our main product (toiler paper) is kinda popular theese days !

Work, eat, sleep, reload, shoot, fish, not always in that order but close, pretty much same as always, just more cleaning steps then usual after a bi-weekly shop for fuel/groceries, less people out and about that's for sure.

Isn't pointing an unloaded firearm at humans or animals illegal?

I think the mention of illegal activities here is forbidden.
