I'm going to start pushing things a little bit further and was wondering what reticle to purchase. I've decided to go with a sightron 8x32x56. Strictly for putting holes in paper at the range. if one is more effective than another and why?

I prefer target cross hairs. I judge wind by "feel" and hold over. I also like the super fine hairs. Here is what my 10-50 Sightron looks like at 500m.

MOAR-T, EBR-1, EBR-2C, all MOA hashmarks on my target rifles. I always use the reticle to hold-over, even on F-class targets.

Fine crosshairs on my .22s and hunting 7RM.

I wish Sightron had more Mil / Mil reticles in their lineup. My TRG currently sports a Bushnell with the G2 reticle that I like quite a lot.

Just picked up my first NF from a fellow CGNer with a MOAR. I don't have the rifle to mount it on yet, but I already love it from scoping things out the window of my apartment lol.

Moar for me in my night forces and Mildot in pretty much anything else. I had a vortex with the moa/moa ebr 1 and loved the reticle in FFP but the optics Mechanics were crap. Too bad. Really pleasing glass and reticle in them.

MOA reticle on a Vortex viper pst. As kevinm said, won't shoot with anything else. Turrets are in MOA, your reticle should match the turrets, makes for simple corrections. Plus Kevinm spots for me and I for him so having matching reticles also makes for easy spotting calls. MOA or bust.

Lot of great reticles out there. As some have stated each has their own merit but turrets should match for efficient application. I like the Horus 37 and Horus 59, P4LF or PSR variant for dialing.
